Safety Tips

Have your furnace checked every fall to make sure you’ll be comfortable all winter long. When properly maintained, your furnace should provide many years of safe, low-cost heat.

  • Check your furnace’s filter regularly. Be sure to replace or clean the filter thoroughly if you can’t see through it when it is held up to the light.
  • Inspect the connection where flue pipes enter the chimney. If there is any sign of rust, have a new pipe installed immediately in order to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
  • Keep the area around your furnace free from clutter. This can increase the furnace’s efficiency and decrease the chance of fire.

It is important to have your air conditioner inspected regularly. Preventative maintenance will extend the life of the unit and keep it running efficiently and effectively during the hot summer months.

  • Keep the area around the outside unit free of all dead leaves, trash, and vegetation for maximum efficiency.
  • Check the furnace filter regularly during the summer months. Dirty or blocked filters can cause high energy consumption and may even cause the A-coil to freeze.
  • Extend the life of your air conditioning unit by having it professionally tuned and cleaned on a regular basis.
