SERVICE TECHNICIAN – HVAC
Position Summary: To provide maintenance on residential heating and air conditioning systems according to company standards providing the customer with a high-quality experience.
Work start and end time: 7:00am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday. (Weekends, Overtime & Evenings as needed)
Employment Type: Full Time
General Qualifications needed for this position:
- High personal integrity
- Clean criminal record
- Drug free
- Must have at least some service experience or schooling
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
- Clean or near clean driving record
- Must be able to be honest, no matter what
Technical Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagram and blueprints
- Be familiar with a wide range of equipment and troubleshooting techniques
- Experience making repair and replacement decisions
- Advanced customer service skills - must be personable & possess good customer relation skills
- Knowledge of basic sheet metal practices
- Knowledge of air balancing principles and techniques
These skills will help with pay and likelihood of hire:
- Experience / Training in the HVAC field
- Customer service and general problem solving
- Customer / coworker references are a plus
- Existing ownership of applicable tools

PAYROLL/ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE - QUINCY, IL
PAYROLL/ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE - QUINCY, IL
Peters Heating & A/C, Inc. has an opening for a Payroll/Accounts Receivable Clerk at our Quincy location. Previous experience is a must. You will be responsible for running a weekly multi-state payroll for the employees at all of our locations. Tax reporting and deduction knowledge would be helpful.
Work Schedule: 8 hour shifts - Monday through Friday
Salary: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Employment Type: Full Time 40 hours per week
Payroll/Accounts Receivable Functions:
- Enter, maintain, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employee’s hourly rates, salaries, bonuses, commissions, or other compensation, time worked, holidays, deductions and withholdings, address changes, and other information
- Ensure proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions
- Maintain all payroll information related to the calculation, withholding and remittance of federal, state, and local payroll taxes; enter data, update information, and prepare reports as needed
- Process and distribute mandated certified payroll reports for prevailing wage jobs
- Ensure proper new hire set-up in HRIS
- Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits
- Process required documents for health and retirement plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations
- Audit payroll and benefit data for accuracy. Identify and troubleshoot issues
- Generate payroll reports and reconcile payroll data
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
- Process year-end tax forms (e.g., W-2s)
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee queries
- Create and maintain confidential and accurate employee and payroll files
- Implement tools necessary to comply with laws and regulations impacting employees
- Assist with auditing processes
- Ensure customer payments are received promptly
- Send collection notices for commercial and residential accounts
- Perform other duties as assigned
