I should have waited 1 day! My mistake was NOT having Peters out 1st. and I'll never make that mistake again. Furnace was out in the am, so I had Kraus out on Tues., because I didn't want to wait for repair. Their tech played around with the furnace for a half hour & then told me I needed a new mother board, and gas exchanger? for about $2000+, or a new furnace. That's all they're trying to sell. I knew this had to be a simple repair. The furnace would run fine, but shut off early. On Friday, Peters was out, and their tech Nate, was "great". Undid a dangerous bypass the former tech had left, removed an unneeded part, & returned the furnace to it's original state. He then tracked the problem rather quickly to a plugged humidifier drain. It took less than an hour. Total cost was $119. Thanks again to Nate, and a company that has restored my faith in local business after some bad experiences!

Greg and Abbie did an excellent job of installing my new Carrier furnace! They were on time and completed the installation in a timely manner. They were courteous and answered any questions I had. Everything was spotless when they left and my new furnace runs much quieter than my old Carrier. Alex did a good job on my Fall checkup on 11/16 and it was from this visit a crack was detected in my heat exchanger a few days later when the inducer motor was going to be replaced.Steve did an excellent job in providing me information and options on replacing my furnace and answering my questions. You have a great team of employees and I recommend Peters Heating and AC to anyone that has a need for your services.

Product or service reviewed: Fireplace - new gas valves replacing 30-year-old system
Peters HVAC Troy office came out to completely remove the gas piping and system with a new system. The installer, after doing a test start-up, immediately saw a hazard. The seal from the factory was defective cause flames to shoot more than proper. He immediately shut down the system. Peters ordered a new system and one week later, I am enjoying my fireplace once again. Thank you, Chris Peters and company.

So pleased with the quick service from Peters Heating and especially with Chris, the tech. I called one day and he was there the next. The problem as to why my gas fireplace would not ignite was not immediately visible but in no time Chris had it figured out!! Great job! So glad it was repaired in time for the next day when it snowed!

January 3rd, I called Peters Heating in regard to my furnace. Their salesman Alex Schupmann showed up at 8:00 a.m. the next day. Very professional, asked questions, gave his opinion, offered solutions. I based my decision on his advice. Alex never was pushy. Installed the furnace on Tuesday. Earl showed up at 8:32 Tuesday. Completed the entire job by 2:20. Cleaned my air conditioner's coil because it was dirty on his own. Did a great job. Hauled off old furnace, cleaned up his work. If you need work, please consider Peters. You will not be sorry. EXCELLENT from top to bottom.

I am not shy to complain if I feel service is lacking in any way, so it's only fair to give praise where it is do as well. And today more than ever, I check reviews. I check the Better Business Bureau when I am getting ready to spend money with a company, whom I am unfamiliar with. I did this as well, with Peters Heating and Air Conditioning. They have an A+ rating there. That is why I ultimately chose them, in addition to wanting to keep my money with a local company. It was a very good choice! I could not be happier. I called yesterday for some routine service, and was put on the schedule for 8:30-9:00 am this morning. I was happy about that to start with. But this morning, the tech Ronnie, out of the Troy location showed up promptly at 8:05 am. Can't beat that! Ronnie was a polite and pleasant gentleman, and knows his way around an air conditioner very well. (I know, they should, but that's not always the case). I know enough to be dangerous, but it is helpful to be able to communicate on a technical level with the tech. It was an all-around VERY pleasant experience. Ronnie was very thorough, and also explained a couple things that I needed some clarification on, including a filter discussion. He also pointed out what great shape my unit actually was in. After checking and cleaning the A coil and blower inside, (adjusting blower speed up for me), and cleaning the condenser, checking the cap and motor and refrigerant charge, it basically needed some TLC clean up, and that was it. No upsells, although it he would have made a recommendation, I already trusted what he was telling me. I am absolutely certain they will be the only company I'll call in the future for any HVAC needs, and I am here to pass that along. Thank you, Ronnie, and Peters Heating and Air Conditioning.

An outstanding and thoughtful service by your technicians! We were without AC for a couple of days in a 90F summer heat. Peters replaced the unit outside and inside, and before leaving our house, they closed all the windows, curtains, shades, locked doors. I came home to a cool 73F house instead of 85F! I usually do work on my furnace. Had an issue once before that happened again. After checking system i realized it was one of 2 things. Figured i needed help so i called Peters. Said service man would be at my house evening of next day. He showed up in the morning and got furance fixed and working correctly. Awesome job. Highly recommended for heat and air needs.

We purchased both a furnace and AC unit from Peters when we were doing some remodeling at the house during late summer. The unit seemed to be working fine while we were running the AC, but began having problems when we had to switch over to the furnace during that early cold snap. Technicians did their best to get the furnace to work properly but there seemed to be an issue with that particular system. Peter's went above and beyond in making sure we were a satisfied customer by replacing not only the furnace but the entire system. Steve was instrumental in making this happen. Then technicians Jeff Cotten and Joe made sure the installation was done smoothly. Jeff made sure that I understood the work that was done and the features of the new thermostat. We have been happy with our choice ever since.

My original furnace of 30 years was having enough issues it was time to replace.I had one bid .but wanted another. Steve came out quickly and did a thorough check of what my options could be. Within two weeks a new system was installed by Jeff assisted by Mark. Jeff verified information and kept me posted of the progress. The project was as scheduled and Jeff was sure I understood the system. The finished product showed the care that was put in to setting the HVAC system up. I would recommend Peter's to anyone looking for a new system.

Their customer service sets the highest standard! After dealing with several HVAC issues in our home due to sub par maintenance we contacted Peters Heating and Air to give us their estimate. The next day Dustin Rife arrived early morning. He immediately noticed several faulty connections and poorly “upgraded” components. Dustin went to work not only rewiring the electrical connections but also ensuring that all thermostats and sensors were properly identified and networked through the gateway. He went to great length in testing the system for full operation and then walking me through the process of a properly functioning cooling system before he left. It is extremely refreshing to see that there are still businesses out there that truly walks the talk regarding customer satisfaction. Hats off to Dustin and the Peters team for a job well done. Peter's recently installed a new heating and cooling unit in my home. When my air conditioner would not turn on for the first time, Bruce made an emergency call to my house. He made it a point to fit me in and make me a priority even though he was booked solid. When he arrived, he gave excellent service and took such care to fix my unit properly. My son suffers from allergies and really needed the AC to breathe easier. Bruce helped us prevent a possible asthma attack through his hard work and dedication. I cannot thank him enough for his professionalism and attention to detail. He is truly one of the best in the field. I would recommend him to friends and family without any reservation. George was exceptional. He showed up right on time and went right to work. The Geothermal units were new to us, but came with the house. He answered all our questions, told us things we could do ourselves to help maintenance, and even made recommendations to help to units run more efficiently in other rooms of the house. He showed us everything he was doing, even explained it to our very curious 3 year old!, and made us feel like we were his only customers for the day. The base-maintenance call covered a lot of things that we were not expecting - purging the units, washing the filters, explanations... We'll be calling again, should their service ever be needed.

WaterFurnace shut off with "Service Needed" error indicated on thermostat. Contacted Peters in Hamilton. They dispatched Jason Glover the following morning. He arrived promptly, and quickly diagnosed the problem. The system was repaired, and up and running within 20 minutes of his arrival. Jason is a great tech, very friendly individual, and would highly recommend him to anyone. Peters installed our geo-thermal system, and it has run great without any major issues. Nathan Brown has done our semi-annual service, and is also a great tech that we would recommend highly.

Recently Ryan Keller of Peters came to our 110 year old home to service the air conditioner which is in a tricky location on the roof of a turret. Ryan had to crawl through a small attic window to get to the unit, and in the process the old window broke, not by carelessness but rather the fact that it was in poor condition. Ryan had a minor cut, but he was more concerned about the window. He got the air conditioner up and running for us, covered the window, and reported the break to Peters. Ryan could not have been kinder or more professional in handling the service call. Peters took care of having the window fixed the very next day. Ryan took time to explain the status of our 25+ year old unit and made sure Peters followed up with a bid for a new unit which will be needed in the near future. We want to thank Ryan for his professionalism and Peters for their follow-through and commitment to customer service.

Although this compliment is delayed by several weeks, I want to express my appreciation to Nathan, one of your technicians. On October 13th, he came to address problems with our thermostat failing to ignite the furnace. He called ahead, was very courteous and friendly. Upon arrival, he very methodically, but quickly, diagnosed the problem answering my questions as he did. When it was determined it was the thermostat he had listened to the fact that we never programmed the thermostat, and installed one we like very much. When it didn’t start the air conditioner, he went to the device, quickly addressed the problem, and it started.

My furnace motor died on me right before a big snow storm and forecasted single digit temperatures. I called right when the snow was starting and they had a guy show up at my door within 30 minutes. He was very professional the entire time and was an older guy who obviously seemed to know what he was doing. I ended up having to replace the motor. He had to drive somewhere to get the replacement but drove back and had the whole thing installed and running within 4.5 hours of the time when I had originally called in the request. Price was reasonable (~$400 for my motor + labor) and they do not expect payment at time of service. They will send you a bill in the mail, and you can call to make payment arrangements. They take credit cards.
I also called them a few years ago because my furnace was blowing cold air. A guy came out quickly then and replaced a copper coil for about $90 including service visit/labor.
Very professional, quick and seem to know what they're doing.

We were very pleased with the whole process. Mr. Brunner (Bill) was very knowledgeable and explained things well. The installers (Jeff & Jon) were exceptionally good, especially the senior member of the team. Very careful that all was done right (even found and corrected a couple of problems), cleaned up perfectly, and took the time to answer our questions and explain the new system to us. I’m happy with how everything was done, how it is working so far, and we’re just waiting for the rebate paperwork, which I was glad to hear about and get help with. Thanks of a great job!

Peters came over to give me an estimate on HVAC system which another notable HVAC company had said I needed for gas valve and crack in the heat exhaust inducer. Peters checked the issues and said I needed no new system, just a replacement inducer which would cost about $200, not $7K. The manager said it was part of doing business honestly. He charged nothing for the check.

I have an in-ground furnace system. I had a situation with the air flow that they corrected. I have nothing but good things to say about them. I have been a customer with them for about 10 years now. I have a service contract with them. I love every one of the technicians they have sent out. They are very careful, clean, and polite. They also put covers on their shoes and clean up any mess. Since I have a service contact I am always first on the list if I need them and they are here pronto. They are polite and courteous.

They arrived slightly ahead of time and explained exactly what was going to be performed and how much it would cost. They wore shoe covers and laid down coverings over the floors and carpeted areas of the home. They brought the equipment in the house and began cleaning. It took them only a bit over an hour.

When my husband and I started construction on our home southwest of Macomb, IL we knew that we wanted to have a Geo Thermal heating and cooling system. I contacted a local contractor for an estimate and also contacted Peters Plumbing and Heating as they are very visible in our town. Former Manager Bob Musolino was wonderful. Within days of my initial phone call, he came to my office in Macomb and discussed our needs and picked up a set of prints. A week later he was back in my office with an estimate. I can’t say enough about Bob’s knowledge and expertise. Tony, Project Manager was just as great to work with. His crew did a fantastic job. The service at Peters is the Best. We’ve told everyone about our wonderful experience and have recommended them several times. P.s. The local contractor took 3 weeks to get back to me with an estimate.

To everyone at Peters, From time to time, we need to acknowledge when good people do good things. This is how we started doing business with Peters. Our 87 year old neighbor had a furnace installed by another furnace company and a year later, the computer panel went out. We called the company that installed the unit (it was after hours and very cold), the person answering the phone stated that the repairman was not home but should be home soon. As we waited in the cold, decided to call again and at that time, heard the phone disconnect and was turned off. That was the time we called Peters, and though we didn’t know them and they didn’t know us, they came right away and quickly fixed the furnace for this lady. That started a great relationship between our family and the Peters’s family. The company has always done a wonderful job; quickly, efficiently, and at a great price. We have had Peters help us many times and always refer them to others. THANKS, PETERS!

We have had them bid and install whole house units in 3 different properties we have renovated. Because they give us good, prompt, punctual service, we use Peters at our home, in our offices in New London and Hannibal, and also in our rental properties. We have found them to be very reliable.
