Tiger Academy of Gymnastics
Tiger Academy of Gymnastics is a recreational and competitive gymnastics facility dedicated to teaching children the art of gymnastics. The school is designed to be a fun, safe environment for kids to learn the sport of gymnastics. Tiger Academy provides classes that teach basic through advanced skills in all four major disciplines: floor exercise, apparatus (bars, beam, and vault), tumble-turning (floor exercise on a spring floor), and acrobatics (tumbling on the ground).
Tiger Academy of Gymnastics is owned and operated by Jill Johnson. Ms. Johnson has been involved with gymnastics for over 20 years at every level – from recreational to competitive. Her passion for gymnastics is evident in her teaching style. The essence of Tiger Academy’s philosophy is the belief that if children are having fun, they will be motivated to learn at their own pace, and it won’t be long before they develop a love for the sport.
Classes are offered for students two years old through adults in a variety of age groups and levels. Tiger Academy is a great choice for parents who want their children to participate in building self-confidence, physical skills, and mental toughness.
Tiger Academy’s staff consists of experienced adults with gymnastics, dance, fitness training, aerobics instruction, and coaching. All instructors have current safety certification and CPR training.
Tiger Academy offers a competitive team that competes at the local, state, and national level in USA Gymnastics-sanctioned competitions and U.S. Classics meets. The school also hosts a summer camp for kids entering grades 1 through 6 from June to August with activities such as gymnastics, games, and crafts.
Tiger Academy of Gymnastics is conveniently located in the heart of Columbia, Missouri, at 920 Business Loop 70 W., on the east side of Providence Marketplace. The gym has a nice interior with padded flooring and mirrors on all walls for viewing from any angle. It has several spring floors and equipment for each of the four disciplines, including bars, beams, and a vault. There is also an outside play area with picnic tables and tennis courts for parents who wish to sit back and relax during their kids’ classes.
